Youth Programs

What makes our club so special is our beloved field where the kids can play and the parents can relax. Stretching from our clubhouse to our tennis courts, our large grass play area is home to camp outs, wiffle ball games, movie nights, and so much more. We have a large playground for our young members’ amusement.

Our most popular youth hockey program is Learn to Play Hockey. Offered twice a week on our outdoor winter rink, LTPH is a beginner hockey level program available to kids ages 4-10 years old. This program focuses on player development by rotating participants through various smaII group drill stations under the instruction of certified coaches and members of our adult hockey teams. For kids who are ready to compete in games, our program offers four youth club hockey teams based on birth year through age 75. Preseason starts offsite in October and then each team meets twice a week in the regular winter season for practice at our club facility. Games are played on the weekends both home and away. This program also includes two specialty clinics a week with a focus on stick handling and power skating. Private hockey lessons are also available by appointment and rink availability.

SWIM TEAM

Our outdoor pool is generally open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Private Swim lessons are available by appointment with one of our certified lifeguards to support your child's development of safe and proper Swimming skills. When your child is ready to compete, he/she may join our club's Swim team starting at age 5. Each swimmer is placed in one of four Swim team groups based on age and skill level. The program begins at the end of May with daily weekday swim team practices and runs through to early August. Swimmers will learn to properly execute swim strokes, breathing techniques and diving from the swimmer's block. During the month of July, swimmers will compete both home and away against nearby swim team clubs with a possible opportunity to compete at the county level at the end of the month.

JUNIOR FIGURE SKATING

The mission of our figure skating programs is to provide high quality instruction for skaters of all ages to advance their skills and forge a love of skating in a safe, positive, and supportive setting. Our Parent and Tot program for skaters ages 6 and under provides an introductory learning experience for our youngest skaters who want a parent on the ice with them. Starting at age 7, we offer a Learn to Skate program lead by certified instructors in a small group setting. After a skater has mastered the ease of moving freely around the rink without assistance, we encourage them to sign up for private lessons during any of the many dedicated JFS ice times throughout the season. Lessons will promote the development of intermediate and advanced figure skating maneuvers as well as prepare them to participate in competitions.
